Going with Green
After salivating over the green yarn for Saint Patrick's Day, I just had to do something with both the image of the green stalks and the green Woolie Silk 3-Ply. Keeping both in mind, I came up with the swatch below:
Known as Ladder Stitch (among other names). This lovely stitch pattern has an equally lovely reverse side:

Which side do you prefer?
If you would like to try it out, here is the pattern:
Cast on a multiple of 8 sts plus 5 (plus selvedge sts).
I cast on 41 sts for this sample, allowing for 2 Garter Stitch selvedge sts at each side.
Row 1 (RS): K2 (selvedge), k5, *p3, k5. Repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.
Row 2 (WS): K2 (selvedge), p5, *k3, p5. Repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.
Row 3: Same as Row 1.
Row 4: Same as Row 2.
Row 5: K2 (selvedge), k1, *p3, k5. Repeat from * to last 6 sts, p3, k3.
Row 6: K2 (selvedge), p1, * k3, p5. Repeat from * to last 6 sts, k3, p1, k2.
Row 7: Same as Row 5.
Row 8: same as Row 6.
These 8 rows represent one full repeat of the Ladder Stitch Pattern.
This swatch could easily become a scarf. Just continue with the 8-row repeat above.
