Welcome to My (Knitting) World
Welcome to my online journal!
I hope to keep all of you who are interesed in my knitting designs up
to date with what is going on at Ilga Leja Handknit Design. And there
is usually quite a lot going on—all at the same time.
There’s lots of knitting and playing with yarn and sketching and more
playing with yarn and swatching and sketching and more playing with
yarn.…
In case you were wondering, there is real work, too. Like pattern
writing and checking and more pattern writing and checking and
correcting and checking and… You get the idea. But I love all of it,
even the so-called boring bits, like the bookkeeping and the shipping.
This is the most sustained fun I have had, well, ever.
To
give you an idea: Here is another view of an old favourite, Diamonds on
the Diagonal. An easy lace scarf with infinite possibilities. I have
seen the most elegant version in a beaded Tilli Tomas yarn and other
fun versions in parrot-coloured handpainteds. You can make this pattern
over and over in any number of yarn qualities and colours.
We can compare notes. So come back and check in with me
periodically. I’ll be posting announcements of new patterns, new yarns,
and new products as I launch them. And we can share our thoughts about
this intriguing, infinitely interesting, mysterious, and soul-enriching
activity that we all love.
