Knitting Collaboration
One of the real rewards of being a knitting designer is meeting--and forming relationships with--other knitters all around the world. Sometimes these relationships move beyond knitterly friendship to actual knitting collaboration. One example of this is my recent collaboration with Emily Barton Hopkins . Not only has she turned out to be a talented knitter, but a very talented author as well. I am reading her novel Brookland and it is an amazing work.
Emily wanted to make the Lake of the Woods wrap. But, being petite, she thought the pattern as written would be too large for her. I sent her some very general guidelines for revising the pattern to her size. Then she went ahead and worked out all the directions and sent them to me in their finished state.
Now I have included her work as part of my pattern with all the numbers for an Extra Small size. And her name, along with my own, is in the credits section of the pattern.

And just in case you think Emily's not that petite after all--she is expecting her first child.
Good luck to you and the baby, Emily!
