Sea Swirl is Back

Sea Swirl was the free pattern on my site last summer. But I continue to get so many requests for it that I have decided to reinstate it.
So Sea Swirl is back! Check my Free Pattern page for the directions to make your own.
Part of its popularity comes from seeing other, very lovely versions of this design on the Web. Bente in her blog features a particularly elegant example. Another knitter wrote to say that she is making one for each of her bridesmaids for her upcoming wedding.
A yarn shop owner told me that she has one on display in her shop. And another knitter on Ravelry has worked this design in a brightly coloured handpainted yarn so that it works like a neck decoration--a piece of jewellery.

This design is worked from the neck down in a simple round, with planned increases for the shoulder shaping.
This design is also easily adapted for different lengths. Just continue to work the pattern downwards, repeating the rows of wrapped stitches in a sequence that pleases you. If you go for a significantly longer version, just make sure that you add a few more increases along the way.
