Norah Gaughan Collection No. 7

I recently picked up a copy of Norah Gaughan's Collection 7 for Berroco. As always, Norah's designs are stunning and intriguing. This collection is no exception.
I have been following her work for many years, ever since I first noticed her designs in Vogue Knitting. They were outstanding, even then, set apart from the pack. There is no one to match her for her combination of shaping, construction, style, and aesthetic.
Just take a look at this jacket and you'll see what I mean: beautiful, feminine, and stylish.

Norah puts her mind as a scientist together with her immense technical knowledge of knitting and comes up with one-of-a-kind pieces. Even her scarves are small masterpieces. One has to look closely to see how she makes those cables move across the fabric on the diagonal while, at the same time, maintaining the linear--and reversible--structure of the overall piece.

After having admired all the other pieces in the collection, I came across this incredible wrap, in the most vibrant colour. Another stunning example of how she takes organic shapes--shapes found in nature--and pieces them together to produce a shawl of incredible beauty.

The perfect marriage of form, stitch pattern, yarn and colour!
