A Call to Colour

The skies are grey; the first snow has fallen and melted; everything has that leaden look. No wonder I am feeling the call to colour!

Normally I love the neutrals: the greys, beiges, off-whites and ecru, the browns and black. They can set a mood like no other colours: dark and sombre or bright and full of potential. The colours of the North are more often in the neutrals. And I find them beautiful.

But at the moment I am drawn to more Mediterranean colours: blues and limey greens; ochre and turquoise and wine.

This past week-end I happened to find three skeins of Blue Face Leicester Sock yarn from Fleece Artist at my LYS.  And I simply could not resist them.

They are actually three different colourways, but I want to work them together somehow. I don't actually have a plan yet. But that makes it all the more fun. Three different colourways to play with.

I'll let you know if I come up with anything that might become a design...
