A Deeper “ Blush”

I was thrilled to see a new version of Blush recently, in a darker, aubergine shade.

This design has been overshadowed of late by my other popular designs, especially Bermuda and Afternoon Breezes. But it deserves a second look. And I am so pleased that Kelly (a.k.a. Just-Knitting on Ravelry) worked up this version. She has been displaying it in her shop, Just Knitting.

She worked it in the same yarn, Louet's Euroflax in the colour "Eggplant". The result is a sultry, sexy tunic. The stitch pattern is very well-defined and looks intriguing.

I am often amazed at how a different colour or a different yarn produces such different results with the same design. The initial concept remains, but the re-interpretation comes from all the different decisions that each knitter makes. The creativity that each knitter brings to the project.

Someone looking at Kelly's exquisite Blush would not necessarily link it to my example of the same pattern.

Both have their own uniqueness, reflecting something of the individuality of each maker.
