Cranberry Swirl

The third pattern in the Five Easy Pieces Pattern Club has been sent out to club members. It is a capelet called Cranberry Swirl.
Worked in the colours of cranberry fields in autumn, this circular capelet highlights the swirling features of a self-striping yarn.

Worked from the top down, it can be knit until you run out of yarn. No need to worry about whether you have enough yarn. Simply add ever-widening increases as you work downwards.

This particular stitch pattern has been used on socks, where the spiralling pattern looks like entrelac. The colour repeats in the yarn I used (Zitron Unisono) are relatively long. This keeps the stripes evely spaced in this design. A yarn with shorter repeats would look quite different again.
Each version of this design will look different, depending on the yarn chosen, the colour, and the size made. I am looking forward to seeing all the various expressions of this pattern.
If you would like a rolled collar, this is easy to do: Simply work the ribbing to the length you want at the neckline, then begin to work the spiral pattern downwards to shape the capelet.

The Five Easy Pieces Club is still open to membershp. Join now and receive the first three patterns right away. See all three of them here.
