Gallery of Designs Using Handmaiden Yarns

When I attended Handmaiden Studio 's opening, I brought along the knitted samples of my designs using their yarns. Above is the summer lace shell with matching scarf, Waves of Lace.

It is worked in Flaxen (65% silk, 35% linen), that compatible marriage of silk and linen, making for a summer-weight yarn, known for both its coolness (linen) and drape (silk). I love it, especially for summer knitting. I am currently working with it in a delicious caramel colour.

The other Flaxen piece is the dressy Violetta:

Then there is the most luscious of yarns, the aptly named Lady Godiva. Like butter, smooth and effortless to work with, this is a yarn that you definitely want to wear next to your skin, as in the ever-popular Antique Lace:
  
I also wanted a version of Balsam for myself and used Silk Maiden (50% silk, 50% wool) in the "Lily Pond" colourway. It is a very similar yarn to Lady Godiva, just a little heavier. Another luscious yarn to wear close to the skin.

Lastly there is Shorelines, worked in Ottawa (92% wool, 8% viscose). Although this yarn is essentially discontinued, it continues to be available for a while, as supplies last.
