Greener Grass

Greener Grass is the second pattern in the Five Easy Pieces Club and is now available for club members.
If you haven't already joined, you can still do so here and receive all the patterns.
This is one of those meditaive, relaxing knits, the kind that I particularly enjoy after a hectic day, when I just want to sit and knit. No complicated stitch patterns to decipher, no stitch counts to manage. Nowhere to trip up. Just gentle, straightforward knitting.

The yarn I used for the Greener Grass scarf is Trekking XXL, 75% superwash wool, 25% nylon, (420 m./459 yds. per 100 g. ball), colour no. 401. This is a typical sock yarn, so the striped pattern repeat is quite short. This results in a scarf with many stripes, just the effect that I was looking for in this design.
I also loved the colourway, the different greens, highlighted by a touch of blue here and there as well as some ecru. I'd love to see this in other colourways, too.
This lacy, chevron pattern is inifintely adaptable: make it wider for a shawl, make it longer for an extra-long scarf. Work it in any style that accommodates itself to the yarn you have available.

Then throw it over your shoulders and wear it with ease.
