Handmaiden’s New Studio

In the presence of a wonderful array of food--and wine--I had the privilege last week of attending the opening of Handmaiden's new dye studio in Halifax.
Formerly located in Vancouver, Handmaiden Studio made the decision to move back to the East Coast last year. After much searching for an appropriate space, they found the perfect place on Halifax's Agricola Street. And just about 5 city blocks from where I live! I couldn't be happier.
During the evening, I had a chance to browse the many Handmaiden yarn offerings. In all their delicious colour combinations. From subtle:

To brights:

And to see their studio set-up. Here is the drying room, as clean and spare and beautiful as a Scandinavian-designed workshop:

With their new dye studio and their central location in Halifax, Handmaiden will also be taking on the dyeing of Fleece Artist's Woolie Silk 3-Ply.
All this makes things very convenient for me. I am going to try very hard to not make a nuisance of myself. But that will be difficult. The prospect of being able to wander over to their place to fondle yarn and relish the myriad of colours may be just too difficult to resist.
Congratulations to Jana and all the Handmaiden team!
