How Far Can You Throw a Zauberball?

I wanted to find out for myself.
So I took one ball of Zauberball Crazy and began knitting. Starting at a point which would allow me to "grow" the piece, I can just work until I run out of yarn. I love those kind of projects because I can then choose to work either to the dimensions I want or until I use up my yarn.
Zauberball Crazy is the next incarnation of the original Zauberball which was a single-ply sock yarn. "Crazy" is also a sock yarn, but with two plies, making is just a little thicker. The two plies are often in different colours which allows for some portions of the yarn to be bi-coloured.

This yarn is a pleasure to work at 75% merino wool and 25% nylon. Because each ball has generous yardage (420 m./460 yds. per 100 g. ball), I felt it was a good bet for a one-skein project.
The colourway shown here is "Fliederduft" (Lilac Fragrance). It gently transitions from pale grey to lilac to purple to blue to navy. A beautiful combination that does seem to work like "magic".

I am getting close to the end now and will have to make a decision soon to bind off. When I get to binding off for a project that I have been enjoying this much, it is always a bit of a disappointment.
I guess I'll just have to get some more and cast on for something else. Perhaps something a little bigger, one that takes at least two balls next time.
