Knit-a-Beach
Come and celebrate the beach with knitting this summer in Nova Scotia at Jane Thornley's Knit-a-Beach . From 02 to 08 August, Jane will be hosting a knitters' exploration of everything related to the sea. She has graciously invited me to join her as a guest designer on 06-07 August. And I can't wait.
Situated at the picturesque White Point Beach Resort on the South Shore, about an hour and a half outside Halifax, this knitters' retreat has everything: beautiful sea vistas, sea bathing, hiking trails, tennis courts, canoeing and kayaking, swimming pool, and a golf course. And a beach smooth enough to land an airplane, it is said.
And have I mentioned the food yet?
So, you see, there will be something for everyone, knitters and non-knitters alike.
Jane is an amazingly creative designer who inspires knitters to "knit outside the box". Her patterns are a feast for the eye and pure luxury to the touch. If you haven't been introduced to her designs, you are in for a treat. Go see her work at www.janethornley.com .
I am thrilled to be part of Jane's program, especially since the Beach has been the theme of my summer collection this year. We will be experimenting with various stitch patterns and constructions that reflect the constantly changing nature of the beach.
