KnitCo’s Summer Show

This week our local knitting guild, KnitCo, is hosting a knitting show at the historic Scott Manor House in Bedford, Nova Scotia. It runs from 11 to 17 July.
Here the organizers are hard at work, setting up the show. It has been an annual event at Scott Manor House for many years and each summer the staff there ask us to come back again with a fresh show of knitted articles.

This year, as ever, there is an outstanding variety of knitting, displaying the many ways in which knitting expresses individual creativity. Here are examples of exquisite lace knitting with handpainted yarns.

This adorable baby sweater is worked in strips using a self-striping yarn. The effect is fabulous. And each example of a project like this would be different. As would be Diane's domino blanket in the background--with different coloured squares each time.

One knitter lucked into a sale on cotton yarn. She bought the lot and sat down to make these colourful dishcloths. This is the stack so far this year--and counting.

And on this table are some of the pieces from my Opera Season II Collection as well as Bermuda. This Bermuda was knit by another KnitCo member.

If you are in the Bedford/Halifax area, be sure to come to see this amazing variety of knitting at the KnitCo Summer Show. It is definitely worth the trip and you will walk away inspired to start new projects of your own.
While there, enjoy a cup of tea in the Tea Room and a tour of Scott Manor House, too.
