Loop-d-Loop Lace

While I was the TNNA Trade Show recently, I had the pleasure of meeting designer, Teva Durham.
Working under the moniker Loop-d-Loop, Teva's designs have always intrigued me. Iconoclastic, original, uniquely hers, they are recognizeable to anyone familiar with her work.
Previous to going to the trade show, I had purchased her latest book, Loop-d-Loop Lace, and was delighted to see that her signature style continues. Teva pushes the envelope on conventional knitting and makes it her own.
Like this lace over-dress which uses stitch patterns common to Shetland lace knitting. It is worked in panels to create new and interesting angles.

Or this pretty lace vest worked in in a series of lace stitch patterns, incorporating nubby texture with refined motifs.

She is not shy when it comes to adding lace in garments using heavier yarns. Here she combines Donegal Tweed, not usually thought of as a yarn quality suitable for lace, with the "Shetland Twins" lace pattern.

And she goes even further, using oversized yarn with oversized needles to fashion this cap and scarf set:

When her work is always so original, it will be interesting to see what Teva comes up with next.
