Norah Gaughan Collection 8

I recently picked up my own copy of Norah Gaughan's latest collection of patterns, Volume 8.

And, as expected, it was full of orginal, fresh ideas, the kind of innovative designs that one has come to expect from Norah.

Always one to experiment with construction, Norah has taken traditional patterns and used them in contemporary ways. Here she has taken a counterpane hexagon, removed one section and placed it at the centrepiece of a sweater. So feminine and eye-catching.

The same creative tendency can be seen here in the single cabling of the front panels of this cardigan:

What a great idea! And then there is this example of some more interesting construction details. They look extraordinary but are really not difficult to do. Yet this cardigan looks like a tour de force.

Never one to be tied down by the usual or the predictable, Norah continues her experimentation by combining cables with lace--right into the cabling itself.

Norah is the designer's designer--with her creativity, imagination, and technical skill.

Another great collection of patterns. Congratulations, Norah!
