Ravelympics

This is the yarn that I'll be using for my Ravelympics project: Fleece Artist "Big Blue".
The colourway is "Peacock", I think. But this looks to be an experimental batch--with lots of black as a foil against which all the brights get a chance to shine. It is 100% Blue Face Leicester wool in a chunky weight.
I run the risk of making something rather garish with so many highly contrasting colours. But then that is my Ravelympic challenge.
The original idea was a shrug, which changed into a bolero, which changed into a jacket, which will change into....? This will be a project that will be designed on the needles. My favourite kind. The piece remains a mystery, even to me, until I bind off.
Here is my swatch for stage one:

I am out of the starting gate. And I'm going for Gold!
