Tulips in the Snow

Recently we have been enjoying this pot of tulips in the house, in honour of my mother's recent birthday. Their beautiful, pale pink colour is such a happy harbringer of spring.
In spite of the fact that I love winter, I can also celebrate the prospect of spring. Why not bring both seasons I love together? And photograph the tulips in the snow. So at a balmy -10 degrees Celsius, I brought the tulips outside for their photo session.

Pink must be in my radar these days, because when I saw these flowers I was reminded of my current knitting project, using Zauberball, with just the same pinks and greens set against a background of white.

I can't stop thinking about tulips when I am knitting this piece.
