I have recently begun offering a new yarn called Silk Twist.
Produced by Handmaiden Fine Yarn, this light and lovely yarn is a delight to work with. A fingering weight, it consists of 65% wool and 35% silk. The silk portion is a strand of mulberry silk plied around the merino wool base. This gives the yarn its unique shine so that it looks as though there are miniscule beads along its surface.
These features work beautifully in a design like Antonia, where the silk content gives the piece its lustre:
Silk Twist will work well with any of my other designs which use a fingering weight yarn. Some examples are:
In the Garden or
Qeen of the Waves.
For now I am offering the Silk Twist in three light, summery shades: Alabaster Pink, Champagne, and Mint.
