The Theory of the “Pop” Colour
I was planning a new project with Handmaiden's Smitten, a new favourite of mine. I had chosen a palette of rust, beige, and brown, a colour combination that would work well for me. I was looking forward to working with it.
Then I noticed how much I liked the blue stitch markers and how they brought out the vibrancy in the palette as a whole. I was reminded, yet again, how adding a strong contrasting colour to the mix can actually bring the whole thing together and give it piquancy.
Luckily I had some royal blue on hand and immediately wound a skein for the project. Now I am liking the colours even more.
The proof is in the swatch!
