Projects from the Yarn Tasters' Club

1 1

Like the brightly coloured trails of bougainvillea draping over a stone wall, the Bougainvillea scarf is a decorative addition to any outfit.

Designed especially to make the most of a single skein of a luxurious yarn, this design uses double yarn overs to create an open, mesh-like structure. The bias technique also helps to distribute the colours in a pleasing fashion.

To add further interest to the stitch pattern, rows of Garter Stitch are interspersed throughout. Use the suggestions given in the pattern or use your own imagination to add diagonal lines of Garter Stitch wherever you like.

The sample pictured is knit with Handmaiden Fine Yarn Silk Maiden, 50% wool, 50% silk, (250 m./273 yds. per 100 g. skein), colour "Bougainvillea".
