Spring Thaw

1 1

With the spring thaw come rivulets of melted snow, coursing down hillsides and through valleys.

The Spring Thaw shawl celebrates this phenomenon of the changing season, as winter succumbs to spring. Worked in an ice blue palette, its cool colouration will be welcome as the weather warms.

The shaping and openness of the fabric in this piece is achieved by the liberal use of yarn overs in every row. Their placement across the surface mimics the flow of icy brooks.

The sample pictured is knit with Fleece Artist Sea Wool, 70% merino wool, 30% seacell, (350 m./383 yds. per 100 g. skein), colour: "Ice Blue".
